Just last month, Charlotte's newest brewery opened its doors in NoDa. Divine Barrel Brewing took over the 8,400 sq. ft. space formerly occupied by the Charlotte Roller Girls on N. Davison St., creating an expansive brewhouse and taproom in its place.

In the month since, Divine Barrel has been serving up beer, wine, cider, kombucha and nitro-powered pours (and of course, crowlers to go). One of our favorite things we've tried on our visits to the new spot? Our beer of the week, "Weisse the Juice."

Read on to learn more about our local beer of the week, the brewery it came from, and the fitness activities (and other upcoming events) they've got to offer Charlotte's active beer-lovers.

The Beer: "Weisse the Juice"

Looking for a bright, refreshing beer to pair with the Carolina sunshine this spring? This 3.3% ABV Berliner Weisse is what you've been searching for. This kettle sour was rested on 170 pounds of apricot puree, resulting in a light, tart, juicy beer with hints of lemon and stone fruit. Grab your sour beer-loving friends and make your way to Divine Barrel to try this spunky Berliner Weisse ASAP.

The Brewery: Divine Barrel Brewing

Located on N. Davidson St. just past the E. Craigshead Rd. intersection, Divine Barrel boasts a bright and welcoming 3,000 sq. ft. taproom. Look out for a lounge area with cozy leather couches, tons of plant life, exposed brick, and ample natural light for all your beer Instagrams. The dog-friendly patio has plenty of room for you and your fellow dog parents to hang out and enjoy a few brews in the sunshine. Hungry? There's typically a food truck out there, too. And don't forget that they've got prosecco and white wine on tap, along with cider and kombucha, for any friends who aren't big on beer.
