When the summer season rolls around, sometimes we just default to reaching for the lightest, lowest ABV beer, most "crushable" beer possible so we can toss back several of them for a little relief from the sweltering Carolina heat.

Believe us: there's nothing wrong with that!

But what if instead, you opted for one show-stopping slow-sipper that you could drink slowly and intentionally in order to savor every last drop?

If that sounds right up your alley, then we've got just the beer for you. Read on to learn more about our beer of the week, the brewery that crafted it, and the events they've got to offer Charlotte's (and Waxhaw's) active beer-lovers.

The Beer: "Coconut Wail of the Baen Sidhe"

If you're a fan of slow-sippin', show-stoppin', high ABV beers, you're going to love our beer of the week from The Dreamchaser's Brewery. This six-grain Imperial Milk Stout has been aged in Irish whiskey barrels and sweetened up with organic toasted coconut, chocolate, and vanilla. The result? A decadent 10% ABV brew that's boozy, smooth, and worth indulging in.

The Brewery: The Dreamchaser's Brewery

Just 30 minutes away from Uptown Charlotte, The Dreamchaser's Brewery is located right on Main Street of Waxhaw, in a space that once served as the Volunteer Fire Department building. As Union County's first (and Waxhaw's only) brewery, Dreamchaser's specializes in a variety of award-winning beer styles including ales, lagers, stouts, and IPAs.

The Events: Music Bingo, Trivia & More

Every Tuesday from 7 - 9 PM, you can test your music smarts (and challenge your friends to see who knows more) with Music Bingo at The Dreamchaser's Brewery.

If you'd prefer to test your knowledge in a subject outside of music, you can stop by for trivia every Wednesday from 7 - 9 PM instead.

Or maybe you'd rather make some music of your own? Head to The Dreamchaser's Brewery every Thursday from 7 - 10:30 PM for Open Mic Night.

You can also spend your weekends enjoying live music from a variety of local and regional bands at the brewery every Friday and Saturday from 7 - 10 PM.
