There's something so special about collaboration — particularly when that collaboration results in the creation of a delicious local beer.

This week's Beer of the Week is a celebration of precisely that: two Charlotte breweries coming together to craft a brew we can all enjoy this season.

The Beer: Trail Town Gose

Our friends at Town Brewing Co. and Blue Blaze Brewing came together to craft this collaboration beer, a gose-style sour wheat ale brewed with blood orange, grapefruit, salt, and coriander. It's pleasantly tart and unbelievably refreshing — the perfect thing to sip after a workout or to day drink in the sunshine. This beer is available in limited quantities in both the Town Brewing Co. and Blue Blaze Brewing taprooms, so get it before it's gone!

The Breweries: Town Brewing Co. & Blue Blaze Brewing

Town Brewing Co. and Blue Blaze Brewing represent Charlotte's West End breweries, holding down the craft beer fort on the West side of the Queen City.

At Town Brewing Co., high top tables co-mingle with living room furniture throughout the 2,500 square foot space to provide comfort in every social situation. And of course, there's a 3,000 square foot patio where dogs and humans alike can enjoy sunshine along with friendly games of Bocce Ball and cornhole.

Don’t forget the International Harvester Metro Van from the 1950s parked out front. Think of it as a mile marker, and you’re one step closer to the beer. With 24 taps — including local kombucha and cider, house-made sodas, and an beautifully curated wine list — we can guarantee there will be something for everyone.

Less than five minutes away, you'll find Blue Blaze Brewing. Their taproom features over 20 taps, crackling campfires, wooden rocking chairs, and instruments to play in a spacious, laid-back, family friendly atmosphere.

Blue Blaze Brewing creates unique reinterpretations of classic German, English, and American style beers. Their beer is available on tap and in cans throughout North and South Carolina.
