Drink of the Week: Wild Blossom Cider, "Brut Cider"
Sep 29, 2018
Fields of trees as far as the eye can see, wicker baskets, and couples wearing flannels while holding hands: this is apple picking season.
Although pies, tarts, and cobblers are tasty, we prefer our apples boozy and sparkling. Thankfully, so does Wild Blossom Cider, the local cider line crafted by Sycamore Brewing.
Our local drink of the week, Wild Blossom’s Brut Cider, is the perfectly refreshing apple treat after a day at the orchard. Read on to learn more about the drink, the cidery (/brewery) that crafted it, and the events they've got to offer Charlotte's active beer-lovers.
The Drink: Brut Cider
This sparkling, dry cider has the refreshing and crisp taste of champagne—but with a tart apple finish, it might be even better! And since Wild Blossom Brut Cider has a fraction of the calories, carbs, and sugar of a traditional champagne, it’s the perfect bubbly and balanced alternative to enjoy post-yoga or run club. At 5.5% ABV, you can skip the guilt as you throw back a few glasses or cans of this light-bodied and effervescent cider after a day of apple picking (or whatever other fall activity you’re feeling).
The Cidery: Wild Blossom Cider
Wild Blossom Cider is crafted in Sycamore’s 54,000 sq. ft. facility in North End. You can find two primary flavors of Wild Blossom Cider on tap at Sycamore Brewing: Rosé Cider and our featured Brut Cider.
The Rosé Cider, made with Pacific Northwest apples, is beautifully pink with a delicate sweetness from the additions of cranberries and peaches.
As for the Brut Cider, now you’ve got the inside scoop. Both ciders are all natural, gluten-free and crafted with the finest ingredients in the Carolinas.
Even more exciting: every Tuesday, you can get wine, cider, and frosé at half price at Sycamore Brewing! You now know all of the cider options available, but you can also choose from Sycamore's wine selection, which includes: Canella Prosecco (Italy), Rotari Brut (Italy), La Galope Rose (France), Underwood Rosé Cans (Oregon), Acrobat Pinot Noir (Oregon), and Acrobat Pinot Gris (Oregon).
The Fitness Activities: Yoga & Run Club
You can join the Sycamore Brewing Run Club on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM and Saturdays at 11:30 AM for a 1, 3, or 5 mile route along the Light Rail Trail. The run itself is free to join, plus runners also get a 25% off coupon to use at Sycamore after they're done logging their miles.
Prefer to bend for your beer? Sycamore Brewing Yoga is back for the warm-weather months on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM in the grassy area behind the beer garden. Class is $10 for a drop-in (or lower with an NC Yoga Bar passport), and yogis get 25% off their first beer after class. Instructors vary each week, but this is always an all-levels class suitable for both beginners and seasoned yogis alike.
