Mar 03, 2019
This month, we're reflecting on how lucky we are to have such talented Beer-bassadors as Emily Maguire. She is nothing short of extraordinary when it comes to sharing the culture of WFYB to those around her! Emily likes to stay active in the beer fitness community by attending various yoga classes, which allows her to try different beers around the city.
In addition to sharing her beer fitness journey, Emily loves to show others the array of activities (and delicious food) Charlotte has to offer. You can often find pictures of mouth-watering dishes on her Instagram, where she reviews the many awesome cuisine options in the Queen City. Her colorful posts reflect her vibrant personality and cheerful demeanor. Be sure to check out her Instagram highlight reel of all things WFYB after you read more about Emily below!

How did you first find out about Work For Your Beer? I was taking a Yoga On Tap class at Old Meck (RIP to that class!), and Mel and Alicia were signing people up for the Weekly Brewsletter.
What made you want to be a part of the Work For Your Beer community? Work For Your Beer made the fitness classes I enjoy more affordable, plus the beer brings in a social element that adds to the fun. I knew it was something I wanted to be more involved in.
How long have you been attending fitness classes (in general)? Four years.
Which brewery fitness classes do you attend? My favorite brewery classes to attend are the yoga classes, I also like to sprinkle in some Zumba/cardio dance.
What motivates you to work out? The feeling of accomplishment that follows a good work out.
What’s your go-to pump up song? Usually just something electronic, but lately it's been the new Bring Me the Horizon album, amo.
What made you start attending brewery fitness classes? The accessibility of top-level instruction in a more casual brewery environment appealed to me a lot. I also love being able to take classes with my friends who might not have the same gym or studio memberships that I do.
What’s your favorite part of going to brewery fitness classes? I love getting to take yoga from new instructors and getting to try new types of classes.

What’s one thing you would want to tell somebody who was considering attending a brewery fitness class? Definitely take one! It's a great way to get a workout in and you get rewarded with a beer. Also, don't be intimidated - everyone is at a different fitness level and we all started in the same place.
What’s your favorite beer (or ‘booch) in Charlotte? Favorite beer is Good Morning Vietnam by Wooden Robot, favorite kombucha is Lenny Boy's seasonal Merry Cranberry.
Why do you love Work For Your Beer? It's just a great team that keeps me physically active and engaged in my community!
