This post is brought to you in partnership with Ragnar. Check out Ragnar for long distance, team, overnight running relays races in scenic locations across the country (including here in the Charlotte, NC area).

When you live in the Carolinas, it's not uncommon to find folks who love to spend time in the great outdoors. And here in the Charlotte area, where we've got so many run clubs that we had to compile information about them in one place to keep it all straight, it's easy to run into people who love both running and being outdoors.

If you're one of those people, then we've got good news: you can combine your love of running and spending time in Mother Nature at the Ragnar Trail Carolinas-SC presented by Salomon, the ultimate weekend getaway this October in Anne Springs Close Greenway, just 45 minutes outside of Charlotte.

The Best Running Party Under the Stars

Gather all of your most adventurous friends (or anyone ready for an unforgettable, nature-fueled experience) and get ready to run relay-style over two days and one star-filled night October 5 - 6, 2018 at Anne Springs Close Greenway.

This year, runners (friends, co-workers, kids) are welcome to join us a night earlier, starting on Thursday for a bonus day of camping, campfires, kumbaya-ing and fun! Mark your running calendar for Oct. 5-6 and join us for a camping adventure with friends, a chance to explore your freedom to roam and an ultimate badass weekend.

Right off the bat, we should let you know that Ragnar Trail is an overnight trail running adventure you can only do with a team.

The starting gun will go off on Friday morning, when your team of eight (or four, if you're feeling daring!) will set out to conquer a series of three smooth, single-track trails that start and end at Ragnar Village. Once the sun goes down, runners will make their way through the star-filled night with headlamps until everyone on their team has completed all three loops on Saturday.

Back at Ragnar Village, you'll be able to rest your legs next to the campfire, where you can enjoy s'mores and relax with your team.

Check out descriptions of each of the running loops themselves (the Green Loop, Yellow Loop, and Red Loop) here so you know what you'll be up against as you run through the great outdoors.
