Raise a glass: Work For Your Beer has expanded its directory and event calendar to include interactive, alcohol-inclusive activities in Raleigh and Durham, N.C.

For more than three years, Work For Your Beer has been the go-to directory of brewery (or cidery, winery, bar or bottle shop) workouts in Charlotte, N.C. In that time, hundreds of thousands of active beer-lovers have used the Work For Your Beer events calendar to find brewery workouts near them.

Now, those same users can visit the Work For Your Beer website to find fun, unique fitness activities at alcohol-serving locations throughout the Carolinas and Virginia — with more cities and states to come.

"As a business, our goal is really two-fold. On one hand, we want to help our audience of active, fun-loving people find the cool events happening at breweries, cideries, and more in their city — or in other cities, when they're traveling," said co-founder Alicia Valenski. "And on the other hand, we strive to help our partners at breweries, cideries, and more show off what makes them unique and awesome, so that our audience will get excited to pay them a visit, attend the events they host, make purchases in their taprooms, etc."

Like many active beer-lovers in Charlotte, Fox and Valenski have visited both Raleigh and Durham several times to explore the brewery scene and the other experiences that the cities have to offer.

The two chose Raleigh and Durham as their fifth and sixth cities to expand to partly based on their own experience, and partly because members of their beer fitness community requested it repeatedly.

"We've gone to tons of beer festivals over the past three years, and while we're there people will come up to us and ask, 'When are you bringing this to my city?'" said co-founder Mel Fox. "We've heard that from people all over the Southeast at this point — but in particular, from a huge number of people in the Raleigh-Durham area. We're so excited to launch in another active, beer-centric city where we already know a huge pool of people will be excited to use our site to find brewery yoga classes, run clubs, and more near them."
