Absolutely Everything You Should Bring to Your Next Beer Festival
Getting ready for pretty much any event outside of the house after experiencing a year of quarantine is... Weird, to say the least. But getting ready for a boozy festival, in particular, is its own beast altogether!
So, what should you bring (and wear!) to a beer or wine festival? We're glad you asked!
If you're vaxxed and/or masked, prep like a pro for pandemic beer festivals, wine festivals, and more with this quick and easy packing list.
A Mask
Yes, restrictions are lifting. And yes, most of the time if you're at a beer festival, you're outside. But we're on the "better safe than sorry" train, friends, and we recommend you hop aboard it! You never know if you'll be asked to pop a mask on throughout your festival experience, so having a comfortable, breathable option like this on standby (with a cute craft beer design, to boot) is always a good call.
Sanitizing Wipes
You're gonna be glad you broughtthesewhen you walk out of the port-a-potty, when your hands and your glass start to get sticky from spilled beer, and just... in general. We promise.
A Hands-Free Bag
Speaking of hands, yours are probably gonna be full throughout your festival experience (you'll certainly have a beer in one of 'em, and likely food, a phone, or other goodies in that other hand). So, strapping on a cross-body bag or a fanny pack is an easy way to have everything you need easily accessible without wishing you had a third hand to hold it all. We may be biased, but we're big fans of this one — it's roomier than it looks and keeps everything organized AF!
Comfortable Shoes
You're gonna be on your feet all day, my friend. This is not the time to break in your cute new kicks or to totter around on high heels. It's also probably a good idea to go with a closed-toe option (you don't want to spill beer on flip-flopped feet or to get your toes stepped on in the crowd). These suckers are a go-to for our team.
Sunscreen
I mean, duh! If you're gonna be in the sun all day at a festival, you're going to want to keep your skin safe and healthy. We love this option for our facesandthis option for our bodies. Pro tip: Set an alarm on your phone before you go with a reminder to reapply after
Sunglasses
Keep those eyes safe from the sun, too! No need to squint or shield your face with your hands when you've got slip-proof sunnies like these.
A Hat
Again, sun protection is the name of the game! You can't go wrong with a classic sun hat, but you could also go for this athletic option if you're looking for more of a Sporty Spice kinda vibe.
A Water Bottle
Our number one tip for beer festivals? HYDRATE! Bring an empty water bottle like this, then when you get inside the festival, you should be able to fill it up with water so you can stay hydrated throughout your beer-drinking adventure.
A Fully-Charged Phone
Be sure to plug your phone in so you've got a full battery when you get to the festival — you'll want it for photos, Untappd check-ins, adding phone numbers of all the new friends you're gonna meet, and...
A Safe Ride Home
...to call a Lyft when it's time to leave! I mean, you don't have to call a Lyft (if you've got a designated driver, more power to ya) but you're going to want to have a game plan for getting your butt back home after sampling beer all day.
An Open Mind!
Beer festivals can be such a fun way to expand your palate and try new beer styles, in addition to meeting some rad new people you might not otherwise cross paths with. The craft beer community is so cool and weird — if you go in with an open mind, you'll be sure to have a blast!
