Pilot Cove, NC

Where to Stay: Embrace Nature at Pilot Cove

When you visit Brevard, you'll want to immerse yourself fully in this region's natural beauty. With various cabins available, Pilot Cove is an ideal accommodation option for the outdoorsy traveler. Located just outside the Pisgah National Forest, you'll be surrounded by lush woodland and panoramic mountain views.

Pilot Cove's cabins are designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding environment, providing a comfortable and sustainable retreat. Here, you're not just staying in Brevard – you're part of the landscape. After a day spent hiking and brewery hopping, there's nothing better than returning to your cozy cabin nestled in the woods.

We stayed in a one-bedroom cabin (with our pup!), which was absolutely perfect.

Work For Your Beer Hiking in Pisgah National Forest

Where to Hike: Discover the Beauty of the Pisgah National Forest

Brevard is a hiker's paradise, offering trails for every level of experience and preference. Two of our favorite hikes are the Moore Cove Falls Trail and the Buckhorn Gap Trail to Twin Falls.

The Moore Cove Falls Trail is a relatively short and easy hike, perfect for a morning stroll. Wandering through the lush forest, you'll reach a beautiful waterfall that cascades over a natural cave. It's an ideal spot for taking photos or simply enjoying the tranquility of nature.

For a more challenging hike, try the Buckhorn Gap Trail to Twin Falls. This trail rewards hikers with the stunning sight of two side-by-side waterfalls after a beautiful trek through the woods. There are a lot of log crossings, so be prepared to test your balance along the way. Optional, but totally worth it: pack a picnic! The falls are a fantastic backdrop for a relaxing meal in the great outdoors.

Work For Your Beer at Sierra Nevada

Where to Drink: Enjoy Some NC Craft Brews

Now, to the other half of your perfect weekend — the craft beer. Brevard's craft beer scene has been thriving, and there are three spots that you simply can't miss:

Ecusta Brewing. Situated right in the heart of Brevard, Ecusta Brewing is a local favorite known for its exceptional brews and welcoming atmosphere. Named after a local Cherokee word, Ecusta focuses on creating quality craft beer that reflects the spirit of the local Brevard community. This cozy brewery boasts an impressive lineup of beers, showcasing both traditional and experimental flavors. From hoppy IPAs to rich stouts, there's something to suit every palate. Grab a pint (or, as we always suggest, a flight!), relax on the outdoor patio, and immerse yourself in the friendly community vibes of Brevard.

Noblebräu. Tucked away in the heart of Brevard, Noblebrau is a hidden gem for craft beer enthusiasts seeking unique flavors. This small-batch brewery prides itself on its innovative and experimental brews that push the boundaries of traditional beer styles. From refreshing sours to bold barrel-aged ales, Noblebrau offers an ever-changing lineup of exceptional beers that will captivate your taste buds. Step into their cozy taproom, strike up a conversation with the friendly staff, and embark on a flavor-filled journey that celebrates the artistry of craft brewing.

Sierra Nevada Brewery. This isn't just a brewery; it's a beer paradise. Located in Mills River, a short drive from Brevard, Sierra Nevada's stunning campus includes a taproom, restaurant, and outdoor beer garden. Take a tour of the state-of-the-art facilities, savor a flight of their signature beers in the taproom, and enjoy a delicious meal at their restaurant, all while soaking in the scenic views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. We highly recommend visiting on an evening when they have live music — there's just something special about drinking a beer in the outdoors while listening to good music.

Your perfect weekend in Brevard, NC awaits. From the peaceful cabins of Pilot Cove to the diverse hiking trails and the craft beer scene, there's something to satisfy every outdoorsy craft beer lover. So why wait? Start planning your trip today!
