Is it time to invest in another beer fridge?

I never thought I’d be a beer collector. Before really getting into craft beer, we would have enough beer on hand for the week, and the small portion of the refrigerator dedicated to beer rarely got out of hand.

Then I began traveling more for work (and thus visiting more breweries when I wasn’t stuck in an office). I wanted to bring back something to share with my friends, and that started coming in the form of beer. These boozy souvenirs were a big hit, and honestly, it started to become an expectation from my friends and family.

FYI, flying with beer requires a lot of bubble wrap and you will need to check your bag. Do NOT try to walk on with cans of beer, or they will get taken from you!

Anyway, as you can imagine, our beer collection started to grow pretty quickly. I was traveling to a new city three out of the four weeks of the month (remember before COVID-19 when we could travel?), and I was bringing back more than we could drink in a reasonable amount of time.

Fortunately, we snagged a NewAir beer fridge for our living room, so we finally had a space to store all of our newly acquired beverages. (See my last blog post about how life-changing a beer fridge is.)

NewAir Stone Beer Fridge

The thing about running Work For Your Beer is that I have my special beers. Beers that need to be photographed, rare beers and releases, and sometimes, just beers that I want to save for later to share with our bottle-share group.

My partner started getting extremely frustrated when he didn’t know what he was allowed to drink in our beer fridge. I don’t blame him; we always have so many unique beers on hand, and not knowing what is a “save for later beer” versus a “drink whenever beer” can be a bit of a tease!

So, we got another NewAir beer fridge. This one is our “special beer” fridge. It lives in the garage and houses all of the special beers that we likely won't drink on a casual Wednesday evening.

The new fridge is a collab with Stone Brewing (one of our faves!), and it can hold up to 126 cans of beer. It may seem ridiculous, but we love our beer, and we looooove our NewAir beer fridges!
